25 – 31 August 2019: WAKO Junior European Championship Success

What an absolutely awesome week away at the WAKO Junior European Championships in Hungary.

We had 6 young athletes selected from GB Fit to represent Team GB, we are so proud of them and how well they did. Very well done to:

– Jack Sowersby won gold in the Younger Cadets points -37kg
– Liam Holden won silver in the Older Cadets -47kg light contact and bronze in the Older Cadets -47kg points
– Marco Casilli won bronze in the Younger Cadets team.

Very well done also to Magnus Hyne, Jaden Mclearyand Dylan Roxburgh who all fought so well at their first Championships.

Over the summer holidays the team have trained 9 times per week with some very intense hard sessions, but it was all worth it. Sharon said she has never seen a team so positive and confident in her life.

Some of them just missed out on medalling by losing to the finalists or winners of their divisions but were very close to beating them. Another year on and they will be at that next level.

Thank you finally to all the parents that supported the team. You have all been a great help to all the kids and are always there for all of them.
